Music for Special Needs
I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals of all ages—special needs and at-risk youth, as well as adults—to provide music experiences that truly connect with them. The great thing about music is that it doesn’t have to be complicated to be fun. We introduce instruments in a simple, enjoyable way to help discover each person’s unique interests and talents.
By offering the opportunity to try different instruments in one-on-one or small group settings, we can identify what excites them the most. Then, we connect them with a peer tutor, teacher, or family member who can support their learning journey. The focus is always on simple, fun songs until they feel ready to tackle more challenging material.
Music doesn’t need to be difficult to be enjoyable. By adjusting the key or simplifying a melody, nearly anyone can learn and play. I can even teach a family member or guardian how to support their learning, creating the perfect "Jam Buddy" for continued musical growth.
