Choirs

Educational and Youth Choirs
  • Kentucky Youth Chorale
    This select group, based in Owensboro, auditions students from all area schools (ages 8-18) and provides in-depth music education, including vocal technique, music reading, and performance opportunities. They have performed nationally and internationally at venues like the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. 
  • Owensboro Community and Technical College Chorus
    Open to community members, high school students, college students, and faculty, the chorus focuses on a variety of choral styles and performs at different venues in the Owensboro area. 
  • Apollo High School Choral Program
    The program consists of three choirs that perform in various events around the Owensboro community. 

Community and Church Choirs
  • Glorybound Singers
    : This community-based vocal ensemble specializes in diverse music genres, focusing on choral performances to inspire audiences with harmonious melodies.
  • First Baptist Owensboro Sanctuary Choir
    : This choir leads worship on most Sundays, singing a range of classic hymns and contemporary choral arrangements. No audition is required.
  • Saint Stephen Cathedral Choir
    : This choir enhances the liturgy at Mass on Sundays and special occasions, singing a wide variety of styles, including traditional hymns and sacred music. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings. High school youth and adults are welcome to join.
  • First Presbyterian Church Choir
    : The choir rehearses on Sunday mornings and leads the 10:30 worship service. They sing pieces from diverse choral backgrounds and offer special musical services throughout the year, including Christmas programs, Southern Gospel services, and jazz services.
  • Settle Bell Choir (Handbells)
    : This handbell choir meets and plays seasonally at 
    Settle Memorial United Methodist Church
    . No experience is necessary, but participants must be able to read music.
